Bricked my RaceCapture pro 2

Post by Max »

Hello,

i change something with the PWM output, now i can't connect to the RCP. Not with bluetooth and not with USB. Only Updating (Bootloader) is working. Is it possible to reset the internal configuration to default?

Please help.

This is a non-official answer. :)

In Windows Device Manager, does it show up as a COM port when you plug it in by USB, before trying to use the RCP app? If so, you can probably talk to it by a terminal program (like putty or termite), and then send the command 'resetConfig' to put it back to factory. If that won't work, running the bootloader and reflashing firmware (even the same version, 2.7.9?) should get it going.

The problem is that the RCP connect -> disconnect in a loop. Without to have the RCP App open. So i can't use the terminal... :(

I tried to update the firmware again as written above. But doesn't take any effect. In the documentation is written that bugfixes do not reset the configuration. So i need something like 2.8.x.

Hello,

Sorry you're having problems getting the firmware flashed. Try this:

Flash the attached 'recovery' firmware. re-start RCP.

Then, flash the latest firmware (currently 2.7.9) available in the downloads.

Finally, restore your configuration.

if you still have the problem after restoring your configuration, please email us the configuration file you are using and we will investigate.

thank you,

Perfect.

I will try this tonight. If that is working i try to reproduce that and write it down what i did. Maybe it is interesting for you to avoid such error. It was pretty easy! ;)
