Support for OMEX ECUs / RS232 to CAN

Post by Mac944 »

Hi,

Recently found out about Race Capture Pro and am very interested in installing in my Porsche race car, however I run an Omex 600 ecu which has a serial/RS232.

It doesn't look as though Omex is currently supported but wondered if using an adapter to convert RS232 to CAN might work?

Thanks

I am working on something similar for my Subaru. I am successfully pulling data from my ecu with an arduino and sending the data via CAN to the RCP.

It can be done! :)

Hi Mac944,

A recent firmware release added Serial I/O communications to RaceCapture/Pro. You can connect a cable to the Aux serial input (outer RJ11 connector). Lua scripting can read/write data to that port. With the right code you can extract data and set it to virtual channels.
