Rev limiter issues

Post by Lee_edwards »

Hi I am running hard cut limiter with my megajolt. Iv got an issue where the car hits a rev limit at approx 6900rpm even though the limiter is set to 7600, I have tried raising it too 8k but the engine still stops at 6900 both on the tachometer and the laptop.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

I never got to the bottom of this issue, after trying another limiter board the issue was still the same, so I have since removed the boards and stuck with the soft cut limiter, but now I have spent a fortune on the engine I am really wanting a hardcut limiter but I need to be able to rev it to 8400rpm. The engine is a Zetec so on coil packs. I am running a sequential gearbox with a flat shift system, as the megajolt doesn’t accept a flat shift system my live feed to the coils is controlled by the flat shift ECU and when the flat shift is triggered it cuts the spark, selects a gear and then spark comes back in. Any suggestions how I can incorporate a hard cut limiter?

Hi Lee,

Unsure about that. How many cylinders is your engine?
