7" 800x600 display to small for dash? (RPI display)

Post by turbogrill »

Hi,

Based on your experience would a 7" 800x600 display be to small/lowres to be used as a combined dash and laptimer?

I want to show the following:

- Big oil temp
- Big coolant temp
- Room for warning oil pressure light
- Lap time
- Small fuel level
- Small fuel pressure
- Small oil pressure

The oil pressure light can be ugly and overwrite everything, as long as it's visible.

The aspect ratio of the display should be 16:9 for ideal layout; it sounds like your display is a 4:3 based on a resolution. Do you have a link for the display?

Good point!

It was some ebay display. I think the standard RPI display will be better it's 800x480, https://www.raspberrypi.org/blog/the-ea ... i-display/

The official display does work well. I'd stick with that. :)
