Android APP - "app has stopped" message when Exit

Post by psfp »

Hi Brent,

Not sure if it was reported before, but I'm receiving a "Unfortunately, Race Capture has stopped." message when the app is finished by clicking the Exit option in menu. It happens every time in my Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy S3.

Also, if I switch to another app and return to Race Capture, I get a black screen and have to manually kill the process and restart it.

Hi,

In the 2nd scenario, does the black screen happen after you try to exit, then try to switch back to it ?

I tried to reproduce a simple scenario where I:

* launched the app
* pressed the home button
* launched another app
* pressed the button that brings up the list of active apps
* re-selected the RaceCapture app

The app came back with no issues.

Is this happening on app 1.11.0?

Thanks,
-Brent

It's exactly the scenario you reproduced, but the app doesn't come back here. It also happens if I lock the screen and try to bring the app back.

Version 1.11.0

I've tested on iOS 10.2.1 and it works, there is no error message when exiting the app.

The second scenario is good as well.

I'm seeing this same issue on 1.11 on a Samsung S8+
The menu with the exit button comes up, but the exit button is unresponsive.
Pressing the home button gets the app to the background, when I bring it back to the foreground the screen is black and I get a application stopped error.

Also had an issue doing the track walk at the autocross course. Got about 1/3 of the way through the course and the track mapping stopped and the restart button appeared. Did this on two course walks at about the same spot. Not sure if this is related or a separate issue.

Just reproduced this on a nexus7 running marshmallow. Not connected to my RCApex.
Exit button seems unresponsive, after several presses the screen goes black. Sometimes an application stopped message comes up, sometimes it hangs at the black screen and you have close it manually.

Hi, thanks for the report.

Can you see if this reproduces with the 1.12.0 beta?

Yes, same behavior on both the S8+ and the Nexus 7.

You can scratch the course walk issue and attribute to operator error. Just did a walk in the neighborhood and figured out what I was doing wrong. Apparently, you can't add another sector or a finish too close to the last sector, during that time the only button highlighted is the re-start button. I think this is what I was seeing on track.
