Megajolt with a Distributor

Apologies if this has been covered somewhere.

I'm running a 4 cyl twin cam ford engine and am wondering if the Megajolt will work without the Edis and the 36 tooth wheel?
I've a Lucas distributor with a 4x tooth magnetic rotor and the VR sensor inside and a spare Motec CDI box and coil, and I'm wondering if the unit can be configured to accept the output of the sensor with only 4 pulses and trigger the CDI box. Was thinking of using the MSD 6al2 but was wondering if this could be an option of a programmable ignition?

Hi, it only works with the EDIS module and the crank trigger wheel, as per the conventional installation.
