testing power supply

Can some one post on testing the power supply what pins do you have 5 volts across ect, according to the schematic p8 and p9 are ground and p7 and p6 are +12 can you use a 9 volt battery to test thie power supply and direction would be appriciated

I've used a wallwart adapter set on 9V most of the time , I think the 9V battery will do just fine.

I got it tested and assembled it shows the 5 volts well 4.98v across the pins so hey it works and did not blow up
