supercharged xe

Post by Paul T »

I have just fitted a supercharger to my Vauxhall xe engined Escort. It's running on Vauxhall Bosch Motronic 2.7 fuel injection/ign, but the car has a dislike to sudden throttle changes. Would the Megajolt/squirt be a suitable replacement to the bosch system?
How do you program the Ecu for different(uncommon) applications?
Can the mega systems trigger a water injection system?
Does it monitor for knock?
Anyone in the UK running a similar application who would be willing to discuss solutions?
Cheers Paul

Post by Todd Charles »

The Mega Jolt Lite Jr. and the Mega Squirt are two different systems. MJLJ controls ignition only and MS controls fuel only and both are independently built, installed and programmed. With that said they would do you well. You may also consider building the MSII wich is capable of controling both. I personally like the idea of two seperate systems if only for the convienence of installing and troubleshooting.

The MJLJ can control a water injection system thru the use of one of its 4 progamable outputs based on engine speed or manifold pressure.

Both are progammable thru a laptop computer for most any application. You need to take a close look at the screen shots of the progamming software.

No Knock monitoring yet but maybe soon.

This was true long ago, at present there are several new ways available to use the MS to control Fuel and Spark.

There is a firmware called MS&spark that should do what you need and a lot more in one box.

Have a look at the Megasquirt'n'spark info
http://megasquirt.sourceforge.net/extra/

Just select the EDIS option and have fun.
