TPS Calibration - negative value

Post by Darrenw »

Ive just connected TPS to my bike carbs. Linked up to laptop and found it is running negative. Do i need to swap the wires around or can the software cope with the TPS running the wrong way round?

Ive tried searching for answer, recall seeing discussion on it before but cant find tonight!

If by negative you mean operating backwards, then yes- you will need to swap the leads on the TPS. To the MJLJ, throttle 'closed' means the TPS sense returns a lower voltage than when it is open.

The calibration process merely scales the measured closed and open voltages between 0 and 100%.

Hope this helps,

Many thanks for your help Brent. That helps a lot. Now i know there isnt a software fiddle i can get on with swapping the sensor wires so it reads the correct way round.

Thanks again,
Darren.
