retarding timing for one cyl

Post by vmarks »

I have an air-cooled VW engine, and cylinder 3 is subject to more heat than the others.

Traditional mechanical advance distributors for this engine sometimes are designed to retard timing by a few degrees for cylinder 3 alone, in order to keep it cooler.

Is it possible to do this with megajolt lite jr.?

My guess is no, based on the notion that the trigger is the missing tooth on the wheel. If this is possible, it would be fantastic.

Your right it's not possible

Your right it's not possible if you use one MJLJ and EDIS module, if you double the things you can run 3 cyl on one system and 1 cyl on the other. You can share the same signal from the VR sensor and give a little offset between the tables.

But AFAIK nobody ever proved that any VW distributor relly had the n°3 retarded, if you have a doghouse fan shroud you should be fine.
