Replacing Bosch Electronic ignition with MJ

Post by knastenrad »

I'm replacing my stock Bosch Electronic ignintion with the Megajolt Jr. on VW vanagon engine with EFI .The Ignition module is a std Bosch and sends a Signal out on pin7 to the ECU.
The engine's EFI-ECU uses a signal from the stock ignition module to control when to trigger the injectors...
Which pin from the Megajolt do i use so send signal to the ECU.
And anyone know what kind of signal that the Bosch sends out? (puts the output to GND or sets the output high 5 or 12V?)

You might be able to send the EDIS IDM signal to the ECU, or the tach-out from the MJLJ.

Not sure on the bosch unit, sorry.

I will try to measure the signal from the Bosch module with a DCVolt meter....if not successful i will use a Oscilloscope to find out.

I asume the tacho output from the MJ puts the output to 0V/gnd when ignition is present?
