Power Distribution Module?

Any interest in a power distribution module? A box with say 16 switch inputs and 16 outputs, mix of high and low current. Something like the Motec PD16, or ADD engineering brand - but opensource...
I'm currently looking at building something up for myself based on the Arduino platform and a bunch of Mosfets\ unless I can find a project already started somewhere...

describe more about what it might do? Would it simply take low level logic inputs and activate mosfet switches?

The idea is programmable (momentary, latch, timed on/off) switching of one or more outputs, with a serial comms bus to interconnect to a slave board mounted say at the rear of the vehicle. Outputs could be a mix of high and low current, used in parallel for higher current - maybe limiting on outputs with timed reset. My need is for a specialised track-day car with a centrally mounted battery.
------------------------------
I'm thinking of the main board at front of vehicle with say 16 inputs such as:
1 start push switch
2 ignition switch
3 fuel switch
4 fuel pump cutout input from tacho or ecu
5 brake switch
6 clearance lights switch
7 headlight switch
8 high - low beam switch
9 headlight flash
10 horn
11 left indicator
12 right indicator
13 wiper switch
-----------------------
and say 16 outputs such as;
1 starter solenoid
2 ecu
3 front clearance lights
4 headlights low
5 left high beam
6 right high beam
7 horn
8 left indicator front
8 right indicator front
9 wiper motor
10 dash lights
11 indicator mimic left
12 indicator mimic right
---------------------------
and say rear board outputs such as;
1 fuel lift pump
2 fuel efi pump
3 brake lights
4 rear clearance lights
5 left indicator rear
6 right indicator rear
