I've got a BMW M20B25 straight 6 engine that cam with a 60-2 crank-mounted pully/dampener and sensor which I'm converting to carbs. Would it be possible to use this sensor/wheel with the EDIS system instead of the 36-1 wheel somehow?
If this is not possible then does a megasquirt system have the capability of reading the larger wheel? (All I need the system to do is handle the ignition).
IS there something I'm missing or simply not understanding?

EDIS can only read a 36-1 wheel so you couldn't use Megajolt/E with the 60-2 setup you have now. Megajolt/C, when it is released will deal with the 60-2 wheels natively but that is a way off being available. So for now you would want to fit a 36-1 trigger wheel.
Megasquirt can (if suitably configured in software/hardware) read a 60-2 wheel and run as an ignition-only system.
