Can I change MJLJ from MAP to TPS (and how)?

Post by [email protected] »

Hello - I built a GBS Zero about 2 years ago (about a year before that I purchased the MJLJ) not realising at the time that a) it was MAP and b) I was going to be fitting CBR600 carbs. Being bike carbs, I want to use the TPS, which is sitting redundant at the moment. Is this possible by conversion?

Also...

The engine is a Ford CVH 1.8 from a 1993 Sierra, is there an ignition map that anyone recommends? Presently there is a stock 2.0 Zetec map loaded.

Many thanks, all!

Anthony

Inspect the PC board of the Megajolt. if it has unpopulated components in the box that says "TPS" then you can purchase the TPS conversion kit and solder the components in place.

Also: you will need to remove the MAP sensor in the process.

Ah, excellent, thank you!

Do you have any advice regards the ignition map?

So that depends on the engine you're running. I would recommend looking at the Ignition Map Library section of the forum to see if someone posted an ignition map similar to your setup.
