Here is the master document of integrating different sensors for every use case. This is a living document - once we have anti-spam measures in place on the wiki we will open up for public editing.

In the meantime, if you would like to contribute to this document email us at [email protected]. Thanks!

The sensor guide has received some significant updates. Check it out and let us know if we missed any sensor types!

Thanks for the updates

A question I've had in trying to get active sensors working... Is the 5v reference meant to be the only 5v power source for the sensor, or is that supposed to connect to a 5v power source and ensure the RCP sees 5v as the same thing as the sensor does?

An EE friend was trying to help troubleshoot and suggested I probably need to feed 5 volts to the 5v reference and to the sensor from an external source.

If that is supposed to be the only 5v power source for active sensors, can it power more than one? Like say a brake pressure sensor and a coolant temp sensor?

The 5v reference on RaceCapture/Pro and RaceCapture/Apex is a 5v output supply for sensors, provided for convenience. Naturally, you can use a different power supply for your sensors.

We have a variety of hookup guides in the wiki here that show how to connect different sensors:

Thanks, do you know how many amps the 5v out can supply?
