Firmware Update Issue

Post by pkolator »

Im using a laptop running Windows 8 (hooray tiles! ) and trying to upgrade the firmware.

I get the "flasher device driver" installed and initiate the "issue firmware flash command" and I see the same screen shown in the how to except it won't go past the "waiting for device to appear on USB". I went as far as four rows of dots before closing the window.

Does this mean I do not have the driver installed?

Any and all input appreciated.

Hi pkolator,

Can you post a screenshot of the window that's attempting to flash the firmware?

Also, are you holding down the front panel button when powering up, and you see the two green LEDs light up?

All three green lights are lit up steady and the screen looks like this...

and more dots just keep showing up.

I figured it out.

Long story short, I uninstalled EVERYTHING and started over. Everything installed and worked like the install guide said.

Sometimes it pays to start fresh.

Hi,

Thanks for the update. Sorry for the hassle - I was going to suggest you check for the libUSB driver being present in device manager when the unit is in bootloader mode. Seems like you resolved it, however.

Updating the firmware the next time should be easier since the drivers will already be loaded.
