MJLJ improved gas mileage from 12 MPG to 20 MPG

Post by 4600cc »

A nicely tuned map on my 4.6L Ford improved gas mileage from 12 MPG to 20 MPG. I traveled 310 miles the other day on 15 gallons, it used to be only about 220 miles. I was ripping that thing by the way. I'm guessing this is because of improved thermal efficiency. Stock compression ratio I believe is 8.5/1. My engine is 166k and has an exhaust leak. So 20 MPG is pretty nice. New 2005 4.6L 2v engines like this get 25 MPG highway. Mine is 20 MPG city, full throttle from every light. I love it.

When I talk this on Ford sites, they all dismiss it as something fake.

How much more advance do you give it at part throttle? That is the question for my map settings.
