Recalculate laps.

Post by mkarr »

I was out at Texas World Speedway Saturday, and ran the RaceCapture/Track for a few laps. It was a pretty overcast day, and GPS data was all over the place. Multiple laps ended up being saved as one lap. Location data over the start/finish straight seems to be fairly consistent, though. Is there some way to increase the range of the start/finish waypoint and recalculate the laps that were saved?

Hi, we have that on our to-do list:

https://github.com/autosportlabs/RaceCa ... issues/781

Some questions on your GPS setup:

* What Hz did you have for your GPS?
* Did you have any in-car radios running for talking to the pits?
* How long was RC powered up before you hit the track?

Hi Mike -

I was at TWS with NASA last weekend as well!

I don't use the Race Capture app for analysis, but I'm surprised that you're seeing so much offset from lap to lap. The data from my RaceCapture Pro Mk2 logs overlays very cleanly session after session and lap after lap.

Can you post a log? I'd be interested to import it to my standalone data analysis software.

Cheers,
Bryan

The GPS was set to 10 Hz in this instance.
No radios in the car.
For this particular session, I believe I had the unit running for a few minutes before setting out.

I am using the RC/Track, so there may be some hardware differences that account for this, I suspect. You can find the log for this session here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/fbujopgvphfhjmw/tws1.log?dl=0 if you want to play with it some. Note: It wasn't a very good session. ;)
