RaceCapture App 1.12.0 upcoming features - explained in GIFs

Post by brentp »

We have a number of new features coming in 1.12.0 - most of these has been stashed work we're getting complete:

New dashboard screens - Accelerometer / Gyro visualizations, plus new heatmap for tire temperature and brake temperature sensors:

Mapping presets for CAN, OBDII and Analog sensors:

Also worth mentioning - since it's both an app and firmware feature: Automatic Logging and GoPro camera control - nothing to really animate here, though:

This and the usual collection of bug fixes.

No ETA on when this will be released, but it's the primary thing on our plate.

Thanks!

Excellent, love the updates and features. Just in time for next years Endurance season.

Nice stuff!

I like the configurable alerts, but the demo makes it look like you can only configure them to warn/alert as values get higher? If so, that won't work for things like oil pressure, fuel pressure, fuel level ...

We are trying the new beta versions racing this weekend.

Can you give us a little insight about the smoothing. What is a good setting and what does it do?

Alerts:

Correct, it works exactly as before, we simply added boxes that make it easier to set precise values.

Next step is to enhance the ranges so you can set alerts on oil pressures, etc.

Smoothing:

Often uses to dampen signals like fuel level, to account for fuel tank slosh. If you have this wired, turn it all the way up and set sample rate at 1Hz.
